AZORES

June 2017. Try to imagine a place that makes you believe in fairy tales.Processed with VSCO with a4 preset
Azores is composed by nine volcanic islands located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean belonging to Portugal.
We visited São Miguel Island, the largest one, also called “The Green Island”.

We flew with TAP Portugal airline from Madrid to Ponta Delgada. There are no direct flights so we made a stopover in Porto on the way there and in Lisbon on the return.
Once we arrived to the airport we rent a car. The process is very simple, you only need to have a driving license and a credit card.

I strongly recommend this hotel. It is located in Ribeira Grande, perfect for visiting the island.
It is cozy, quiet and has a huge black sand beach that would leave you speechless.

It’s important to visit this place with good weather. If it is cloudy it is impossible to appreciate the landscape.

This amazing lake is my favorite of the island. We had to go down a wet and slippery forest until we found it, but when we arrived we were stunned. It was imposible to capture what we saw.

Even stopping every two minutes in the middle of the road some lanscapes scaped to our vision.
